| X.509 And Cipher Scale-out
Capabilities Added to TeamF1’s SSHield Embedded Security Product |
| New Version
2.0 Of Embedded Secure Shell Has Enhancements Based on
Customer Feedback |
Fremont,
California, September 16, 2003 – TeamF1, Inc.
the high-performance embedded
networking and security software company, today announced
immediate availability of SSHield Version 2.0. This version
enhances its popular standards-based SECSH software for the
network and industrial manufacturer markets. SSHield 2.0 now
adds a host of new features based on customer requests,
emerging new technologies, and support for new standards,
such as X.509.
“SSHield has been used for secure remote management of
connected embedded systems ranging from networking and
telecom equipment to industrial control equipment. It
continues to be one of the most popular and growing secure
CLI solutions available today,” said Mukesh Lulla, President
of TeamF1. “SSHield has always been recognized for its
comprehensive feature-set, lean footprint, and tight
integration with its supported platforms. Version 2.0
expands on all of these areas with major new features such
as the ability to scale out unneeded ciphers, flexible
access to secure file transfer facilities, and enhanced
Kerberos support.“
Highlights of new features include: |
|
 |
X.509 capability: Support for X.509 certificate-based
authentication including revocation list features. |
|
 |
Reduced memory footprint: Ability to scale out specific
encryption ciphers, certificate support and combinations of
hash algorithms. Features such as compression can also be
scaled out based on application resource budgeting and
requirements. |
|
 |
Enhanced scp and sftp library: Flexible APIs for scp / sftp
based secure file transfer for ease of client and server
control. |
|
 |
Target-based Key generation: Dynamic key generation
capabilities on target systems. |
|
 |
Enhanced Kerberos integration: Full-featured integration
with TeamF1’s AuthAgent Kerberos and other Kerberos agents
for secure authentication. |
|
 |
Abstracted IO system: Flexible interface for storage
requirements of keys, certificates, and preferences for
devices that do not have a file system available. |
|
As in earlier versions, SSHield continues to provide a full
suite of SECSH applications including server & client
implementations and secure copy & FTP subsystems. SSHield
version 2.0 also includes an updated version of its
comprehensive cryptographic library and new drivers for
popular hardware accelerators.
