FREMONT,
Calif.- April 12, 2005 -
TeamF1, Inc. the high-performance embedded networking and
security software company, today released a new version of
AuthAgent Kerberos, its
standards-based implementation of the Kerberos™ V Protocol (RFC
1510) for authentication of network clients and services in
embedded devices.
AuthAgent Kerberos 2.0's
newest features include an implementation of a Federal
Information Processing Standards (FIPS) certified version of
the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm, IPv6
support, support for memory-based credential caching, and an
enhanced Yarrow-based PRNG. When combined with TeamF1's
AuthAgent X.509 for digital
certificate authentication, the product's built-in support
for certificate based initial authentication (PKINIT) and
opaque subkey material enable compliance with the security
requirements of the PacketCable™ specification.
"This upgrade underscores our continuing commitment to help
promote evolving security standards in the embedded space,"
said Mukesh Lulla, President, TeamF1. "We strive to deliver
a comprehensive and modular feature-rich security platform
for embedded devices that enables our customers to focus on
their own competitive differentiators without investing
significant resources on keeping up with security
standards."
About AuthAgent Kerberos 2.0 First made available
to the embedded market in early 2003,
AuthAgent Kerberos has been one
of the company's leading solutions for avoiding the dangers
of transmitting plain-text authentication information by
providing secure authentication in networked environments.
AuthAgent Kerberos can be used
as a standalone authentication agent and is also
pre-integrated with TeamF1's network security protocol
implementations including SSH and IPsec/IKE.
AuthAgent Kerberos
finds use in the authentication of embedded devices such as
workgroup routers and printers, networking and storage
equipment, and remotely managed industrial control
applications that require secure authentication, single
sign-on capabilities and compatibility with enterprise
Windows® and UNIX® authentication servers. With the enhanced
features added in the new release,
AuthAgent Kerberos can now also
be used in various datacom & telecom infrastructure devices
that require security for MTA/CMS interfaces, PacketCable
compliance, smart-card authentication or use of FIPS-approved
algorithms.
Availability
AuthAgent Kerberos 2.0 is
available as a source license under royalty-free terms
directly from TeamF1 with immediate availability on Wind
River's VxWorks ® operating system and VxWorks-based
Platforms, with an edition for embedded Linux to be released
shortly.
In keeping with TeamF1's goal of protecting its customers'
investment in its technology, this upgrade is provided at no
additional cost to all customers under current maintenance
agreements.
