TeamF1's
embedded software products are licensed with very
flexible terms from cost-effective object-code
licenses to full-source and royalty-free licenses to
best suit our customers' financial and technology
requirements.
The following are some key
points about our standard licensing model. For more
details, or to customize the licensing model to your
requirements, please contact the TeamF1
representative in your region for a sample of our
OEM license agreement. Do note that the information
provided here is only for your convenience, and in
no way overrides or supersedes the license agreement
that you must execute before using TeamF1 software.
Purchasing a license to a TeamF1 source code or
object code product buys you a single-application
license for that product to use it in perpetuity or
enterprise-wide license on an annual subscription
basis subject to the following terms:
A single-application
license is valid only for the application
specified in the OEM license agreement. The license
is also freely transferable to an acquiring entity
if the licensee (or "substantially all of its
assets" as our lawyers like to say) is acquired by
another company. A
royalty-free licensing model is available as an
option for standard TeamF1 products and incurs no
production license fees or royalties based on volume
of shipped end-product units.
An enterprise-wide
license is similar to the single-application
license defined above, but covers multiple
applications within an organization such as a
division of a company, all projects in a company
subsidiary or for all projects in a company. The
scope of the organization is clearly defined by the
customer at the time of purchase and that determines
the pricing. Such licenses are available on an
annual subscription basis per developer, with a
royalty-free option.
In summary, for most
software teams, including geographically distributed
teams, which are developing software for a product
or product-line, chances are that a
single-application license for each TeamF1 product
you wish to use may be your best choice. If you wish
to standardize on the use of a TeamF1 product
throughout your company or division, an
enterprise-wide license will likely work more
favorably for you. Again, please contact us and our
account managers will be able to find a licensing
model that best works for you. We have never turned
away from any reasonable changes to our licensing
model.
Any patches, updates and
upgrades provided as a part of the initial product
warranty or as a part of the annual maintenance and
support subscription are licensed under the same
terms as that of the initial license purchase.
If you have some custom
requirements such as transfer of license to a
third-party after completion of development, or a
requirement to ship binaries or source to
end-customers, please
contact us
and we will be happy to work with you to work out an
appropriate arrangement. |
